Examplesof Clauses: Independent Clauses are complete sentences. They can stand alone and express a complete thought. Examples: I want some cereal. Marie likes cats. Joseph is a good soccer player. Dependent Clauses contain a subject and a predicate, but they do not express a complete thought. Examples: When it is raining. Because you were late.
Thereis also an IF () function, which differs from the IF statement described here. See Section 12.5, “Flow Control Functions”. The IF statement can have THEN, ELSE, and ELSEIF clauses, and it is terminated with END IF . Oncea condition is found to be TRUE, the IF-THEN-ELSE statement will execute the corresponding code and not evaluate the conditions any further. If no condition is met, the ELSE portion of the IF-THEN-ELSE statement will be executed. It is important to note that the ELSIF and ELSE portions are optional.
